Marcus Rashford reveals two best players he’s played with as Mason Mount pictured at Carrington for Man United medical
Marcus Rashford broke through into the Manchester United first-team in the 2015/16 season and has played alongside many great players since then.
The United forward had an excellent campaign last term, scoring 30 goals in all competitions, and will be looking to improve further as 2023/24 comes closer.
Erik ten Hag’s side have begun their pre-season journey, with certain players returning to Carrington on Monday. It will be another two weeks before Rashford and other international players are back, however.
United have eight pre-season fixtures scheduled in order to be best prepared for the new season.
Rashford, whilst enjoying his time away from the pitch, has took to social media platform TikTok to answer questions from supporters.
One account asked who the best player Rashford has ever played with and the 26-year-old responded, but could not narrow down to a single teammate and instead chose two.
“The best player, or players, I’ve ever played with is Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney,” Marcus explained, then adding in the caption of the post, “I couldn’t just pick one.”
Rashford spent the 2021/22 campaign with Ronaldo and the beginning of last season before the Portuguese departed the club. His time with Rooney was towards the beginning of his career as he broke through into the first-team.
Meanwhile, Rashford could be welcoming a new face to the club soon. His England teammate, Mason Mount, completed his medical ahead of a proposed transfer on Monday.
The Chelsea midfielder’s vehicle was pictured entering Carrington, and according to the Manchester Evening News, he was present at United’s training ground at 8am.
The two clubs agreed on a transfer fee for the player last week, with United set to pay £55 million plus an additional £5 million in add-ons. He will sign a five year contract at Old Trafford with the option for an extra year.
Erik ten Hag is said to have followed the playmaker’s development since he spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan at Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie. He is seen at United as a modern midfielder, capable of carrying out specific tactical instructions and leading the press, a key component of the Dutchman’s approach.
