Marcus Rashford is still “a great player” explains ex-Man United player
Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has stated that Marcus Rashford is still a “great player” despite struggling this season.
Like Rashford, Brown, 44, was a product of the United youth academy, spending the majority of his career at the Premier League giants.
Winning five league titles and two Champions League with United, Brown would become a valued squad member during his time with the Red Devils.

Speaking about the development of his fellow United youth prospect, Brown admitted that Rashford has had a poor season for the club but implored the winger to push on in Rasmus Hojlund’s absence.
“Marcus Rashford’s not had a great season,” Brown told instantcasio.com. “Last season he was brilliant and you’d have thought that he’d carry it on, but it’s been difficult for him at times.
“I do think he’s a great player – we all saw what he can do against Manchester City, but he needs to do that more consistently. There’s been a lot of pressure on him this season and he’s not dealt with it that well.
“Manchester United have really struggled with scoring goals generally this season, whereas last season he was the one scoring goals and saving the team.
“He would have liked to have played better up until now, so hopefully, he can pick himself up and start to score the goals again for the team to move forward because they’re going to really need him in Rasmus Hojlund’s absence.”
Despite having an underwhelming season, Rashford is currently United’s top scorer in the league this season, an accolade he shares with Hojlund and Scott McTominay.
The trio all have seven league goals so far this season, with four of Rashford’s goals coming since the start of 2024.
