Marcus Rashford provides Man United injury update after Liverpool substitution
Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has provided an injury update after he was forced to be substituted during the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
Rashford, 26, came off for Antony midway through the second half in the Old Trafford clash.
Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo scored the goals for Erik ten Hag’s side on the day.
However, a late penalty scored by Mo Salah ensured the spoils were shared, making it three Premier League games in a row with dropped points for United.
There have been many different injury concerns at Old Trafford this term and Rashford coming off appeared to be another setback.
After the game, however, Ten Hag confirmed that the forward’s issue was not serious, and Rashford has since responded to concerns as well.
In response to a supporter’s comment, hoping that he is okay, Rashford said: “I will be okay.”
The forward has not been in his best form this term after a terrific campaign last season. During Ten Hag’s debut season in charge, he scored 30 goals in all competitions.
However, Rashford has netted just eight times so far this term in what has been a dismal campaign for the entire team.
United face Bournemouth on Saturday. Rashford’s availability will likely be known when Ten Hag addresses the media on Friday.
