Marco Silva issues triple Fulham injury headache vs Manchester United, fourth star faces late fitness test
Fulham boss Marco Silva has confirmed that three of his Fulham stars will be unavailable against Manchester United as a fourth faces a late fitness test ahead of the FA Cup game.
Manchester United return to FA Cup action on Sunday as they host Fulham at Old Trafford in the fifth round of the competition.
United’s cup run has already included a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Arsenal following a 1-1 draw at the Emirates, before a late Harry Maguire winner secured a 2-1 triumph against Leicester City.
Rúben Amorim’s side head into this tie fresh from a 3-2 Premier League win over Ipswich Town, though their defensive struggles remain a major concern.
With United sitting 14th in the league, winning the FA Cup looks like their best chance of securing Europa League qualification—unless they can go all the way in Europe and claim a Champions League spot.
Silva delivers Fulham injury latest
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Fulham boss Marco Silva confirmed that trio Kenny Tete, Rhys Nelson, and Harry Wilson remain out of action.
Meanwhile, after returning to training, midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe faces a late fitness test to see if he can make the trip to Old Trafford.
“The same three players, they have been out for a long period, they are going to still out. Kenny, Reiss Nelson, and Harry Wilson,” Silva said.
“Emile is back in training with the team. We have another session tomorrow, and after that we are going to take a decision.”
Amorim confirms no injury returns
Meanwhile, Amorim confirmed that he does not expect any of United’s current injured crop to return to action by the time Sunday afternoon comes around.

He did also confirm that forward Alejandro Garnacho picked up a knock against Ipswich Town and faces a late fitness test, but he expects the 20-year-old to be ready to play.
“He has a knock, I expect him to be ready but we will see, I have to wait until tomorrow,” Amorim said.
Altay Bayındır, Toby Collyer and Tom Heaton are set to be still missing, along with Amad, Jonny Evans, Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martínez, who are all longer-term concerns.
There is no confirmed return date for either Mason Mount or Luke Shaw, with both players sidelined since December.
