Manuel Ugarte registration deadline revealed as three important clauses Man United included in sale
Manuel Ugarte is set to sign for Manchester United and he could be part of the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday if registered in time.
Ugarte, 23, travelled to England on Tuesday evening to undergo his medical with the Premier League club.
This follows United’s agreement with Paris Saint-Germain on an initial £42 million fee for the midfielder, with up to £8 million in potential add-ons.
After signing the deal, Ugarte will join Erik ten Hag’s midfield, partnering with the highly talented Kobbie Mainoo.
It has been explained by the Manchester Evening News that Ugarte would need to be registered with the Premier League in order to feature against Liverpool on Sunday.
The deadline to be registered in time to play in that game is at midday on Friday 30 August.
Meanwhile, the Reds have made a number of sales in recent weeks and the latest is Hannibal Mejbri to Burnley, which was announced on Wednesday morning.
According to the Manchester World, three clauses have been included in the deal to sell Hannibal to the Championship outfit.
Firstly, they have a 50% sell-on clause in place. There is also a buyback clause, and United have matching rights for any future sale.
This allows United to benefit if Hannibal is sold to another club. It is an approach that has been used in almost every sale so far this summer.
However, it also provides them with the chance to re-sign the Tunisian should he improve greatly. When he signed for United from Monaco, Hannibal was extremely highly rated.
Hannibal made 13 appearances for the first-team at Old Trafford, scoring once in a defeat against Brighton in 2023.
