Manuel Ugarte has sent a message to one Manchester United star after their transfer exit was announced.

The Reds are looking to complete their last bits of business ahead of the transfer deadline in just over a week.

Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have joined the club this summer while Erik ten Hag’s squad are expecting to have at least one more addition.

There is also going to be several player exits and Facundo Pellistri is one of the players to depart the club in the final weeks of the window.

The club confirmed on Wednesday that Pellistri’s move to Greek side Panathinaikos had been completed. Reports say the fee is around £6.8 million.

United are also said to have a 40 percent sell-on fee and a buy-back clause in the contract for the next three years for the player who joined the club in the summer of 2020.

Following the announcement, Pellistri took to Instagram to send a message to United supporters. He wrote: “My time has come to say goodbye. It’s been an incredible journey, full of unforgettable moments and experiences that I will cherish forever.

“Your unwavering support, both on and off the pitch, is something I will remember forever. I’ve grown as a player and as a person, and that’s because of you.

“As you say, once a Red, always a Red. Manchester will always hold a special place in my heart. Wishing the club and all of you nothing but the best for the future.”

Several Reds flooded to wish Pellistri the best in the future, including club captain Bruno Fernandes, but another player also responded to his Old Trafford exit.

Manuel Ugarte is waiting for his own summer move to be completed, with the midfielder being United’s final target of the window.

The PSG and Uruguay midfielder left a simple response under Pellistri’s post, a love heart emoji. He would’ve looked forward to linking up with his fellow countryman at Old Trafford.

Ugarte’s move appears to be closing in, with various reports mentioning a possible loan move – including an obligation to buy the player next summer.
