Scott McTominay has returned from injury to rejoin the Manchester United matchday squad for their Premier League encounter against Leicester City.

Erik ten Hag is eager to continue United’s unbeaten streak at Old Trafford and is excited for the week coming up for The Reds.

This difficult clash against The Foxes is closely followed by the Europa League second leg against Barcelona. Three days after that game United will travel to Wembley to play in the Carabao Cup final.

“Everyone wants to have this experience, to play many games,” he told club media when asked about the upcoming schedule. “Players prefer to play games to training, so they like it every time again.

“Of course, there are demands to get ready for every game and it costs a lot of energy, but it’s what we are paid for. This is our job, we will do that and, first of all, when we start to play football, you want to play big games.”

Three points on Sunday is the focus right now, however. and Ten Hag is without Casemiro, who is serving his final game for suspension.

Harry Maguire is also missing from the matchday squad, alongside Antony and Anthony Martial who have both had niggling injuries in recent weeks.

Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer both return to the squad after serving their own suspension for the Europa League game midweek. McTominay joins them as the only injured player to return to action.

Kobbie Mainoo has kept his place in the squad after travelling to the Nou Camp on Thursday as well.
