Manchester United’s travelling squad for their Premier League clash against Chelsea this week has been confirmed, with Ruben Amorim receiving some good news.
Everyone is eagerly anticipating the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday evening.
Before that, however, Ruben Amorim’s side face a challenging Premier League fixture away at Chelsea on Friday evening.
The head coach will need to strike a careful balance—resting and protecting key players, while ensuring others get valuable minutes to build match fitness ahead of the final.
When speaking to the media this week, Amorim suggested that he will have mass rotation to the team and that players are still fighting for places in the team for Bilbao.
Heaven and Collyer return to United squad vs Chelsea
United’s squad travelled down to London on Thursday afternoon and Amorim has received a big boost in terms of his squad.
Ayden Heaven has travelled with the team and could be in line to receive his first minutes on the pitch since before the March international break. Toby Collyer has also travelled after overcoming recent problems with injuries.
Both players will certainly want minutes on the pitch so they can prepare to be involved for the final.
Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson are also both involved in the squad after impressing in recent weeks. They have been named the U18s and U21s Players’ of the Season respectively. Chido Obi was not with the group.
Amorim has stuck to his word by keeping the rest of the squad as strong as possible, with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire and Amad all part of the travelling group.
