Manchester United’s 21-man travelling squad vs FCSB confirmed as Luke Shaw decision made
Ruben Amorim has confirmed his travelling squad for Manchester United’s important Europa League clash against FCSB on Thursday evening.
Manchester United shift their focus back to the Europa League this week, aiming for a third consecutive win for the first time this season.
Ruben Amorim’s side recently secured victories over Fulham and Rangers, and a win against FCSB would guarantee automatic qualification to the knockout stages.
It has been a challenging start for the Portuguese manager, but he will be hoping the team can build confidence from their recent results.
United remain unbeaten in the Europa League this season heading into the final league-phase fixture, with four wins and three draws in the competition.
Amorim confirms travelling United squad for FCSB clash
After conducting their open training session at Carrington on Wednesday morning, the Reds have jetted off to Bucharest, Romania.
They will be set to play in The National Arena for this clash and Amorim will conduct his pre-match press conference after the team’s flight arrives on Wednesday evening.
Despite taking part in the morning session, it has been confirmed that Marcus Rashford will not be involved in the game.
There is continued speculation around his United future and the no.10 has not appeared for the club since the beginning of December.
Luke Shaw has returned to full training with Amorim’s squad but Amorim has decided that this game comes too early for the defender, who has not started a game for the club in over 11 months.
The United boss is very cautious about the reintergration process for injured players and Shaw will likely need more time on the training pitch before being ready for involvement.
Other players like Toby Collyer, Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee were among the travelling party. Amorim will likely look to rotate his team to keep players fresh.
Altay Bayındır could be in line for his second start in the Europa League after a solid game against Rangers followed his FA Cup heroics versus Arsenal.
