Bendito Mantato is in electrying form for Manchester United’s youth teams and he could be fast-tracked by the club in the coming years.

Mantato, 16, has experienced a rise in United’s academy which has become an interesting topic. Starting his career as a left-back, Mantato has quickly made a name for himself as aversatile player, recently transitioning to the role of a dangerous right winger.

Despite playing just three times in the Under-18s Premier League for Adam Lawrence’s table-topping side, the England youth international’s ability is clear to see.

He has already made his debut for the Under-21s squad and also appeared for the Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League earlier this campaign.

Comparisons to established stars like Bukayo Saka, who also made the same positional switch, have been made. Mantato’s stellar run of form, has seen him find the back of the net six times in his last three games.

The teenager netted four times in one game against Blackburn Rovers U18s before two friendlies against AS Monaco and OGC Nice saw him score one in each game this week.

Despite interest from several top Premier League clubs, and reports stating that the 16-year-old was considering his options, according to AcademyScoop, Mantato has made the bold decision to commit his future to United.

The verbal agreement for a Scholarship deal with the Red Devils is set to be official in July, as the report details, and showcases his belief in the club’s vision for his development.

Within United, whispers of Mantato’s exceptional abilities have already begun to circulate. The aforementioned report states that club insiders suggest that his development is on a fast-track, due to a combination of physical, technical, and mental factors.

He has been spotted training alongside the first-team squad in recent weeks under the watchful eye of Erik ten Hag, which further cements his status as a player with a bright future.
