Manchester United vs Tottenham injury latest as nine stars could be missing

The latest injury news has been explained ahead of Manchester United’s next Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United head into Saturday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur in North London unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches.

Ruben Amorim’s side have shown a clear upturn in form, securing victories over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton, along with a draw against Nottingham Forest. Since their 3-0 loss to Manchester City in mid-September, United have suffered just one defeat in all competitions.

Tottenham, meanwhile, sit level on points with United but have struggled at home this season. Their defeat against Chelsea last weekend saw their fans boo the players although they did win 4-0 against Copenhagen in the Champions League mid-week.

The two sides met four times last season, including the Europa League final, with Spurs coming out on top on each occasion. As Amorim’s men make the trip to London this weekend, they’ll be determined to set the record straight.

United vs Spurs injury latest

United’s injury luck has been positive this season, and the only player who looks likely to miss this clash for the visiting side is Lisandro Martínez.

The Argentine has been desperate to get back on the pitch and has returned to team training but Amorim will likely view this game as one that comes too soon for the defender.

On the other hand, Spurs have a handful of players unavailable for this game, with long-term absences for the likes of James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke.

Thomas Frank’s side have a further six first-team players out of action, with Ben Davies, Radu Dragusin, Yves Bissouma, Archie Gray and Kota Takai ruled out with various injuries.

Djed Spence and Mohammed Kudus have also suffered knocks in recent days and are doubts for the game on Saturday, although it seems more likely that they make the clash.

Injury situation at United improving

In recent years, it has always felt like United have had to deal with at least two or three injury crisis’ per season but things are looking much more promising this term.

While that can partly be explained by the club not being in Europe and the lack of midweek football, Amorim and the staff at Carrington also deserve praise for the lack of injury concerns.

The Portuguese boss has conditioned his players very well and the United squad look fitter than they have done in a while, and when players get knocks or injuries, their return to action is treated carefully.

Martínez is desperate for a return to action but it is clear that Amorim wants him back for an extended period and is eager to avoid any setbacks once the defender is back on the pitch.
