Manchester United welcome Marco Silva’s Fulham to Old Trafford for the final game of the Premier League season.

United supporters will be thankful that the race for Champions League football hasn’t gone to the wire and it should prove to be a final game without drama ahead of next weekend’s FA Cup final – which would be the complete opposite of what happened the last time these two sides met.

Three red cards and a penalty decided Fulham’s fate in March and meant that United progressed in the FA Cup after a late turnaround thanks to a Bruno Fernandes penalty and a Marcel Sabitzer brace. With additional thanks to Willian, who was sent off for a deliberate handball and Aleksander Mitrovic who was sent off and suspended after shoving the referee.

A place for third – which United currently occupy – is still up for grabs but The Reds will surely have one eye on the final next Sunday. Here are three things to look for ahead of ahead of Fulham’s visit to Old Trafford.

#1 – Rotation. And lot’s of it.

Champions League football is in the bag. A three-day turnaround since the Chelsea game. An FA Cup final less than a week away. Expect rotation. And lots of it.

The game could provide opportunities for the likes of Dalot and Garnacho to stake their claim for a place in the starting XI for next week’s cup final and also give those a run out who haven’t had much game time in recent weeks – such as Wout Weghorst and Harry Maguire.

#2 – The waves goodbye

The players will partake in a lap of honour around the pitch at the end and those with eagle eyes and self-professed body language experts will be keen to read into any waves to the crowd.

There will be no doubt be some buzz on social media after the game but Sunday could prove to be the last game for quite a few of the United players. Wout Weghorst, Marcel Sabitzer, Anthony Elanga and Harry Maguire are just a few of the names that we may never see in a Manchester United shirt again after Sunday.

#3 – Mitrovic’s return

The Serbian striker has been a caged animal for much of the last two months after serving his eight-game suspension for shoving the referee on the last occasion he visited Old Trafford.

He’s picked up where he left off after returning from his suspension with three goals in two games and this fixture against United will have been circled on his calendar. He will be keen to right the wrongs of his actions in March and end what has been an impressive season on a high.
