The Manchester United squad were spotted at Stockport station on Saturday afternoon ahead of their FA Cup clash against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Ruben Amorim’s side will be visited the Emirates Stadium for the second time in a month after a 2-0 defeat came in the Premier League towards the start of December.

United fought well for the most part of that game but Mikel Arteta’s side grabbed the three points following two set-piece routines.

Since then, it has been a difficult ride for Amorim, who is learning all about the difficulties of the English schedule within his first two months at Old Trafford.

The Reds were finally able to have a full week of training ahead of their clash against Liverpool at Anfield, and their preparation paid off with a solid performance in the 2-2 draw.

After another full week at Carrington, Amorim will be hoping for a similar performance this time around against Arsenal.

United squad spotted ahead of Arsenal clash

United travelled to London on Saturday afternoon by train and the squad was spotted by some fans at Stockport station before their journey.

It was claimed by Hesham Bilal-Hafiz that Marcus Rashford was not with the group. This would make it the seventh game in a row which the English forward has not played in.

Rashford’s agents have reportedly been meeting some of the top clubs across Europe, including Barcelona, ahead of a potential January move.

Meanwhile, the images uploaded onto social media showed a handful of players who are in the travelling squad to face The Gunners such as Joshua Zirkzee, Christian Eriksen and Matthijs de Ligt.

In fact, Bilal-Hafiz explained that it was the exact same squad which faced Liverpool at Anfield, meaning that the likes of Luke Shaw and Mason Mount remain out of action.

It also suggests that no Academy players have been promoted for the clash despite the likes of Godwill Kukonki and Jack Moorhouse training with the first-team in the week.

Amad was also a doubt ahead of the game after an injury issue in training, but it appears that he is fit enough to be in the squad for the FA Cup clash.

In that case, the full United squad would be as read below:

Onana, Bayindir, Heaton, Dalot, Mazraoui, Malacia, Yoro, De Ligt, Maguire, Martínez, Casemiro, Collyer, Mainoo, Eriksen, Ugarte, Antony, Garnacho, B.Fernandes, Amad, Zirkzee, Hojlund.

Amorim says United will go full strength vs Arsenal

Amorim has confirmed that Altay Bayindir will start the game, with André Onana moving back to the bench.

It will be Bayindir’s fifth appearance as a United player and he will be hoping to put his shaky display against Tottenham Hotspur last time out behind him.

Otherwise, United fans could expect a full strength team with minimal rotation as Amorim appears to be finding out who he can trust in which roles now.

The 39-year-old also seems to want to build some momentum after that promising display against Liverpool last weekend.

“At this moment, I am living day by day. We had one week without a game. It does not make sense for me to rest players now and play both games really near,” he told reporters on Friday.

“We have to win and follow the last performance. We are in a difficult moment. We are improving, we will put out the best team to try to win. I will choose the best team to win. We want to win the cup.

“Sometimes, it is better to win this type of game and have less time to rest. We just to win this game and then we will think about the next.”
