Manchester United transfer has now gone “very, very quiet” – Rúben Amorim facing fresh headache

Rúben Amorim is facing a fresh headache as he welcomes his side back to pre-season training at the beginning of next month.

Manchester United have already spent their initial transfer budget on attacking reinforcements, securing Matheus Cunha and advancing negotiations for Bryan Mbeumo.

With a striker and a midfielder still needed, the club are now focused on raising funds through player sales to continue their summer business.

United are actively looking to offload Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony, and are also open to offers for Rasmus Højlund.

The planned clear-out is part of a wider effort to reshape Rúben Amorim’s squad ahead of the new season.

Sancho’s Turkey move is now “very, very quiet”

United remain intent on offloading Sancho permanently this summer, but interest from Fenerbahce has significantly cooled despite recent speculation, according to Fabrizio Romano.

While various reports have suggested the Turkish club were in advanced talks, Romano has clarified on his YouTube channel that the situation is “very, very quiet” between Sancho and Fenerbahce, with no concrete negotiations currently taking place.

United’s stance has not changed — they are seeking a permanent solution and are unwilling to entertain loan offers unless a club agrees to cover Sancho’s full salary.

This remains the major stumbling block, as seen previously with Chelsea, who opted not to pursue a deal after failing to reach a financial agreement on wages. Napoli and Juventus have both made contact in recent weeks, but neither are yet prepared to meet the full salary demands either.

The expectation is that United will continue to wait for a club willing to meet their terms. For now, despite recurring links, Fenerbahce do not appear to be a serious contender for Sancho’s signature.

Amorim is approaching an immediate headache next month

With United yet to offload any players of significant value, Amorim is set to face an immediate headache as his players return from their holidays.

Pre-season training starts on 7 July, and while the club hope that Mbeumo will join Cunha for the opening day at Carrington, a decision has yet to be made regarding whether any of the players expected to be sold will return.

The relationship Amorim has with Rashford and Garnacho is frosty at best, and Amorim has yet to meet Sancho face-to-face after his season-long loan at Chelsea.

As for Antony and Tyrell Malacia, there seems to be no disciplinary issues, and if both players do not secure a move before 7 July, they should be return to pre-season training with the rest of United’s players.

However, regarding Sancho, Rashford, and Garnacho, Amorim will likely have to make a firm decision in the next week.
