Manchester United told star must be sold despite “unbelievable talent”, with £21m bid incoming

Manchester United have been told they must sell one player with “unbelievable talent” as a potential offer looks to have come in for him.

There is a desperate need for Manchester United to generate some cash through player sales this summer due to a limited transfer budget.

Should the Reds complete a deal for Bryan Mbeumo soon, they will not be able to sign any more players until they free up some space in their squad.

Ruben Amorim and the United chiefs are prepared to sell several players, including wantaway winger Jadon Sancho, who has failed to have any significant impact at Old Trafford since he arrived in 2021.

He was expected to be sold to Chelsea this summer due to an obligation clause in his loan contract but the Stamford Bridge side decided to pay a £5 million fine to avoid the transfer.

United star must be sold despite talent

Sancho’s career at United has been worse than anyone would have expected. He joined the club as one of the most highly-rated attacking talents in Europe.

Former United winger Lee Sharpe has labelled Sancho as an “unbelievably talented” player but admits that he is simply not suited to Premier League football and should be sold this summer.

“It’s been a shame with Jadon Sancho because he’s one of the players I would pay an entrance fee to go and watch. His footwork and ability to take people on is great,” Sharpe told Aceodds.com.

“As a kid I would have wanted his name in the back of my shirt. I want to watch him dribble and beat players. On his day he’s awesome.

“He just doesn’t seem to be able to do it at a level in the Premier League and the pace the league is at. I think he is quick enough but I don’t know if likes dealing with the physicality. He can go past people like they are not even there and at times he just seems to take the easy option and pass it square.

“With his ability he should be taking players on at every opportunity and I don’t think he does it enough. He’s unbelievably talented but doesn’t do it enough. Maybe Germany suits him more where teams don’t sit in as much and he has more time and space to beat players.”

United receive £21m offer for Sancho

There haven’t been many suitors for Sancho since it was confirmed that he wouldn’t sign for Chelsea but Juventus have become a potential option for him.

Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that the Italian side have advanced in their bid to sign the 25-year-old this summer, making contact with United and the player this week.

Meanwhile, Italian reporter Marco Giordano has added that Juventus have bid £21 million to United for Sancho, which has been described as a ‘very important’ offer.

The biggest obstacle for any deal involves a club being able to match Sancho’s wages, or convince him to lower them into their own structure, which is something Chelsea failed to do.
