Manchester United told four ‘fantastic’ transfer options that Erik ten Hag ‘needs’
Manchester United have been advised by former midfielder Paul Ince to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s squad in two key positions.
The Reds have struggled so far this term and are already out of the Carabao Cup and Champions League. They are lingering outside of the Premier League’s top four in seventh place.
One major reason behind the difficulties this term is the injury troubles experienced at Old Trafford, with many players receiving setbacks across the campaign.
The latest to fall to extended outlays are Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof, who are both expected to return in the New Year.
Another issue has been the lack of goalscoring power upfront. New signing Rasmus Hojlund has struggled in the Premier League, and the 20-year-old hasn’t had sufficient support to make up for his goalscoring woes.
Paul Ince has suggested three different strikers who could help the Old Trafford club and believes that a reliable goalscorer is crucial at United.
“Lautaro Martinez and Victor Osimhen would be two players who have been looked at by Premier League teams – particularly Osimhen, whose relationship with the Napoli owners has become a bit fragmented,” he told daznbet.
“Domenico Berardi would also be fantastic in the Premier League. Man Utd don’t have an identified striker at the moment, as Martial, Rashford, and Hojlund have hardly scored this season! You need a striker who’ll get you at least 25 goals a season if you want to seriously challenge for trophies.
“Rashford achieved that last season by scoring 31 goals and it resulted in United getting a Champions League place. That’s how important a clinical scorer is.”
Ince, who played at Old Trafford for six seasons, also thinks that The Reds could do with added strength in the centre of midfield, after loanee Sofyan Amrabat has failed to impress so far on his stint at the club.
“I’d say Nicolo Barella would also be a great fit,” suggested Ince. “United need someone like him in midfield!”
