Rasmus Højlund has switched his agents to the same agency that currently represents Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Atalanta striker Rasmus Højlund has become increasingly linked to Manchester United in the last three weeks, with Erik ten Hag looking to bolster his front line.

It was reported yesterday by the Manchester Evening News that SEG Agency, the same agency that currently represents Ten Hag himself, were trying to acquire Højlund as a client – and it seems that they have got their man.

According to the Athletic, Hojland has signed with SEG Agency ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Danish international almost certainly gearing up for a potential summer move.

It has been said that Ten Hag himself has held multiple video calls with the young striker, born in 2003, although United may need to dig deep into their pockets in order to sign the player.

Højlund has previously stated his love for Manchester United.

“Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Manchester United fan,” he said in March. “So personally, it would be one of the biggest things for me (to sign for the club).”

If Manchester United were to sign the 20-year-old forward, it would likely be in conjunction with the signing of another striker to start ahead of him, such as Tottenham frontman Harry Kane.

Højlund is not the only player that United have been looking into in recent weeks – France and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani has also gained the interest of the Red Devils.

The Athletic have further explained that United have held “detailed talks” over the potential signing of the French forward, although a deal for Hojland seems the more likely outcome as of now.

Kolo Muani has jumped to the fore of world football after some dazzling displays at the 2022 World Cup, scoring in the semi-final against Morocco and having a last-gasp effort saved by Emiliano Martinez in the final.
