Manchester United subject to ‘concrete’ Saudi raid, Rúben Amorim could earn £60 million from triple sale

Manchester United could see three of their current players earn moves to Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks as Rúben Amorim seeks further transfer funding.

Manchester United are entering the final stretch of their summer transfer business as Rúben Amorim gears up for his first full season in charge at Old Trafford.

The club have already secured the signings of Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Bryan Mbeumo. Cunha and Mbeumo are expected to form part of a refreshed front three, while 18-year-old Leon will serve as understudy to Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu at left wing-back.

Looking ahead to the final five weeks of the window, United are targeting three more additions: an experienced striker, a defensive midfielder, and a goalkeeper capable of challenging André Onana.

To make room for new arrivals, however, the club will likely need to raise funds through player sales — with high-profile names like Alejandro Garnacho potentially on the chopping block.

Saudi interest growing in three players

So far, United’s only significant exit has been Marcus Rashford’s move to Barcelona, but even then, that has been a loan deal with an option to buy for £26 million plus a further £4.3 million in add-ons.

However, with the club needing to generate more sales and raise further funding for Amorim, Saudi Pro League sides are starting to circle some of United’s fringe players.

According to Sky Sports, two top Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in signing Antony, and the player would be open to such a move, even if his preference remains to re-sign with Real Betis.

Furthermore, Dutch outlet VI has reported that fellow outcast Tyrell Malacia is of interest to one Saudi side, with the United having received a concrete offer from an unnamed club in the Middle East.

Finally, Luke Shaw is reportedly subject to serious interest from those in Saudi Arabia, and would be open to hearing what would be on offer for him.

Amorim could raise £60m from three sales

Antony and Malacia’s respective departures have been on the cards for a significant amount of time, with both players having been shunned from the club’s pre-season training so far this summer.

However, the interest in Shaw may be a welcome addition, with the 30-year-old not much of a key player for Amorim amid the emergence of Ayden Heaven and Diego Leon on the left flank.

If United can secure between £10-15 million each for Shaw and Malacia, this could raise £25 million for United that they may not have expected to receive this summer.

When this is paired with the £35 million asking price for Antony, which Saudi Pro League sides might be willing to match, United would raise close to £60 million in transfer fees, which would go a long way to securing their remaining three transfer targets.
