Manchester United stars ‘spoke in favour’ of return for ‘bomb squad’ member after failed loan move

Manchester United’s stars were made to vote on the return of a ‘bomb squad’ member. The United players ‘spoke in favour’ of their teammate.

Since the arrival of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United have endured some turbulent times, although as of late, their situation has improved significantly.

During the summer, United replaced some of their outgoing stars with four new signings, such as Senne Lammens between the sticks, and Bryan Mbeumo on the right wing.

In this process, a ‘bomb squad’ was developed, which is a term used to describe a group of players who have been excluded from the first team, such as the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.

Although four of the five members of this bomb squad managed to find themselves a move during the summer, there is one who remains. The United squad were asked to vote on the final member.

United squad in favour of Malacia

As reported by The Athletic, via Metro, Malacia, who was the only remaining member of the bomb squad, was voted on by the current crop of United players.

The Reds’ stars were asked to give their opinions regarding the Dutch left-back, to which the players ‘spoke in favour’ of Malacia’s return to first-team training.

The Dutchman returned to the United bench last month, as the Reds defeated Brighton 4-2 at Old Trafford in the Premier League, although he was an unused substitute.

In September, it was reported that United had ‘reached an agreement’ to offload Malacia on loan to Turkish side Eyupspor; however, this collapsed. The 26-year-old also saw a proposed loan to Elche fall through.

United’s squad harmony

It was only shy of a year ago that new stories were being broken every week regarding trouble within the United squad; however, fast forward to the present day, and the squad seems far more harmonious.

Now that the bomb squad is no more, there will be no media surrounding the club’s outcasted players, which will surely take a weight off Amorim’s shoulders.

With United desperate to climb back to the top of the table, it is no secret that a harmonious, healthy environment will be crucial in their aspirations.

Whether Malacia stays or goes in the future, it is far better for his career that he is able to train with the first team again, as he can regain any lost sharpness from his time away from the squad.
