Manchester United starlet told he can become ‘best in the world’ as he’s ‘just like’ 6x Premier League winner

One of Manchester United’s teenage stars has been told he can become one of the best in the world in his position amid comparisons to a six-time Premier League winner.

In a recent interview, former Premier League ace William Gallas highlighted one of Manchester United’s defenders as a player who could reach the highest heights in football.

During his time in the Premier League, Gallas made his way around London, playing for Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur, although his accolades were all won at Stamford Bridge.

The 47-year-old played 321 top-flight fixtures in England across 12 seasons, winning the league twice, the League Cup, and the English Super Cup.

Gallas had a lot to say about his fellow Frenchman Leny Yoro, whom he has tipped to be a future star as long as United manager Rúben Amorim is careful with his development.

Yoro could become ‘one of the best’ defenders in the world

Gallas was full of praise for Yoro, explaining that the 19-year-old reminds him of a lot of United legend and six-time Premier League winner Rio Ferdinand, and that he has the ability to become one of the best defenders in the world.

“Leny Yoro reminds me of Rio Ferdinand, and I think he could grow into being one of the best defenders in the world,” Gallas raved in an interview with Genting Casino.

“I have been impressed by him so far, but I do think he joined Manchester United at the wrong time, despite the fact that he is about to play in a final.

“It is easy to lose your confidence as a young player in the Premier League, so the manager has to be careful about not putting too much pressure on him.

“The club need to make sure that he’s not scared to make mistakes and that is hard, he would’ve really benefited from having a very experienced defender next to him, imagine someone like Nemanja Vidic.

“But he does remind me of Ferdinand and also of Raphaël Varane, but he needs the right people around him to learn from and I’m not sure United have that.”

Will Yoro showcase his potential?

After a troubled start to his first season at Old Trafford, Yoro has found his feet under Amorim and has been a revelation for his side.

Many expect the 19-year-old to be one of the world’s best one day, but Yoro will surely hope that his side listens to Gallas and brings in the ‘right people’ for him to learn from.

The upcoming Europa League final on 21 May grants the youngster his first opportunity for silverware as a professional, although there are doubts surrounding whether the United centre-back will be able to play.

It will be a race against time to see if Yoro is fit to play in this final; however, Amorim will be desperate for his centre back to show the world what he is capable of.
