Manchester United starlet sends three-word injury update, Chido Obi and Amir Ibragimov respond

One Manchester United starlet has provided an update on his injury situation this week following an unfortunate setback this term.

Manchester United have had a difficult season so far and it has been the youth which has often provided a bright spark across the campaign.

The Under-18s are having another excellent season and produced a thumping 13-1 victory over Leeds last week and the Under-21s also have a lot of impressive talent.

Chido Obi and Harry Amass have made first-team debuts under Ruben Amorim while a handful of other young stars have appeared on the bench and could push for involvement on the pitch before the end of the season.

Jack Moorhouse, Godwill Kukonki and Jayden Kamason were all included in United’s travelling squad for the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash against Lyon.

Finley McAllister is another player who may have been pushing for first-team football if he did not suffer an injury setback last month.

United starlet sends three-word injury update

McAllister, 18, was the captain for the treble-winning Under-18s side last term and had become an important player for the Under-21s this season.

However, the midfielder has not played since late February and confirmed last month that he had suffered an injury setback which would keep him out until after the Under-21s campaign had finished.

This week, McAllister took to Instagram to provide a positive update on his injury situation, posting the message: “Slowly but surely! 🔴⏳”.

Obi was among the players to like the post while Amir Ibragimov, another talented youngster, commented: “back soon”.

McAllister will be hoping for summer involvement

McAllister will be hoping to be among the players involved in United’s pre-season tour and he may even be eyeing the post-season visit to the Far East as a potential way to impress Amorim.

United will face ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur just three days after their Premier League season finishes, and then Amorim’s side play in Hong Kong two days afterwards.

It is unlikely that first-team players will be heavily involved in those games and that gives an opportunity to these young stars to play.

Moorhouse is one player who has been reported to be part of those games and McAllister will be hoping that he is fully fit and firing at that point.
