Manchester United starlet returned to training today, he can influence loan U-turn after Ruben Amorim demand

One Manchester United starlet reportedly returned to pre-season training on Thursday and he can potentially influence a U-turn over his potential loan.

Manchester United players reported back to Carrington on Monday as pre-season preparations got underway ahead of a pivotal campaign under Ruben Amorim.

Following the summer break, Amorim welcomed the majority of his squad back to the training ground to kick off their return to action.

New arrivals Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon were among those present, with the club sharing footage of the session out on the pitch.

The opening three days of training have not featured the full squad, as some players were granted extended time off, but a larger group returned on Thursday, including Sekou Kone.

Kone returns to United training and can influence loan U-turn

It was reported by the Manchester World that Kone would have been among those to return to the United training ground on Thursday. The midfielder is one of the most exciting prospects at Carrington.

After impressing during the post-season tour of Asia, it was reported that Kone is set to be sent on loan next term and he could join Enzo Kana-Biyak at INEOS-owned Lausanne-Sport.

However, the 19-year-old will likely get chances with the Reds over pre-season and he could end up influencing Amorim into making a U-turn over his future.

Amorim is said to be demanding a new energetic midfielder this summer but with the club still negotiating a deal for Bryan Mbeumo and waiting for a striker signing, that midfield addition could be waiting a while.

If Kone continues to perform like how he did in Asia, then Amorim could look to keep him at Old Trafford to be with the first-team squad, rather than heading out on loan.

The teenager does fit the style the United boss wants, with his energy clear to see whenever he’s appeared for the Under-21s.

United finding balance with loan moves

There is obviously a balance when considering the future for some of these players, especially due to the multi-club model being developed with INEOS.

Lausanne would guarantee Kone consistent minutes whereas there is a level of doubt with most loans. Since they are INEOS-owned, there is a lot more confidence that he will get the time on the pitch he needs.

But there is a reality where United might not be able to get the energetic midfielder Amorim desires and Kone fits the bill more than most other players at the club.

With the club not being in European competition, there will be discussions about whether players like Kone can get the game-time they need at Old Trafford or not.
