Manchester United star signing Casemiro features in Team of the Year

Manchester United summer signing Casemiro has taken the Premier League by storm, and his actions have caused him to be named in French publication L’Equipe’s Team of the Year.

Casemiro signed for Manchester United for £60 million in the summer, with his inclusion in Erik ten Hag‘s squad making fans across the planet incredibly excited to see the Tank in Manchester red.

Having won the Champions League with Real Madrid at the back end of last season, Casemiro’s 2022 has been no joke – he’s simply one of the greatest players on the planet, and his performances at the World Cup have only continued to prove this point.

Casemiro has formed a much-welcome partnership with fellow new signing Christian Eriksen at the heart of Manchester United’s XI, working with the Dane to break up play and progress the ball forwards to United’s attack, helping serve Marcus Rashford in particular (who has scored nine goals so far this campaign).

He also recently filled in at centre-back alongside Victor Lindelof as the club defeated Burnley 2-0 to progress to the EFL Cup quarter finals, further showing his incredibly versatility and ability as one of the world’s top footballers.

Erik ten Hag will be relying on Casemiro often across the next few months as United embark on a gruelling schedule involving all four competitions as the Dutchman aims to become the first Manchester United manager to win a trophy at the club since Jose Mourinho in 2017.
