Manchester United star reacts on social media after criticism from Ruben Amorim for mistake vs Chelsea

One Manchester United star has seemingly reacted on social media after he received criticism from Ruben Amorim after the win over Chelsea.

Manchester United started brightly against Chelsea on Saturday evening, playing with assurance despite a week of heavy criticism.

Ruben Amorim’s men pressed aggressively, and Chelsea were reduced to ten inside five minutes when goalkeeper Robert Sánchez was sent off for bringing down Bryan Mbeumo outside the box.

United took full advantage, with Bruno Fernandes striking first and Casemiro adding a second from a scrappy effort in the area.

However, the momentum shifted before half-time as Casemiro received a second booking and was dismissed, putting United under pressure.

The second half was largely uneventful until Trevoh Chalobah headed in late to narrow the gap, but United held firm to secure the points.

Amorim criticism after Chelsea clash

After the game, Amorim was clearly frustrated that his team could not make life easier for themselves in this game after getting a one-man advantage.

While Casemiro’s sending off was clearly the turning point, the United boss also seemed to criticise Amad for failing to find Benjamin Šeško with a pass inside the box when the Reds were 2-0 up.

“We started really well, really aggressive, and then the sending off helped us a lot and then we scored two goals and had everything under control,” explained Amorim.

“Then we have a situation three against one and the goalkeeper is out of the goal, and we missed the last pass and then as usual we complicate things and make everything hard with the sending off of Casemiro.

“But we fight in the second half and in the end we suffer together and I think we deserved the win.”

Amad has played the last two games for United slightly out of position in the left-sided no.10 role due to the injuries of Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha.

Amad reacts on social media

Amad has seemingly reacted after that criticism. The 23-year-old shared an Instagram story alongside Alejandro Garnacho, who was an unused substitute, in the Old Trafford tunnel.

The Ivorian also tagged the agency who represent him and Garnacho before deleting all of his Instagram posts. He also cleared his X profile apart from one post made after his winner in the Manchester derby last year.

Amad does not have Manchester United in his bio across his social media channels. United fans often criticised Garnacho for his social media behaviour.

There has been no criticism of managers or teammates from Amad, who has publicly stated that he wants to stay at United for the rest of his career, but it is an interesting reaction after the Chelsea clash.

It is also important to note that the Ivorian has played out of position in the last two outings, and that missed pass to Šeško came after he won the ball back brilliantly on the left flank.
