Manchester United star praised for “absolutely exquisite” moment vs Leicester City, it was inevitable
Bruno Fernandes was named the Man of the Match once again as Manchester United cruised past Leicester City on Sunday night.
Manchester United secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Leicester City in their Premier League encounter, with Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho both ending their extended goal droughts.
Ruben Amorim’s side started brightly and were rewarded with a deserved lead at halftime, as Højlund found the net for the first time in 22 appearances. The visitors maintained control throughout the match at the King Power Stadium, delivering a dominant performance.
Garnacho also ended his goal drought after seeing an earlier effort ruled out for offside. His quick snapshot caught Mads Hermansen off guard, doubling United’s advantage.
Bruno Fernandes then capped off the victory with a stunning goal from the edge of the box in the final moments of the game, securing all three points for the Reds.
Fernandes praised for “absolutely exquisite” moment vs Leicester City
It was yet another masterclass from United’s captain Fernandes, who seems to be dragging this side through the season right now.
He had a hand in all three goals – scoring one and assisting twice – which has now put him into illustrious company in United’s Premier League record book.
The Portuguese midfielder is one of only six players to have scored 50 goals and provided 50 assists in the Premier League. Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Ryan Giggs are the others.
Fernandes was praised heavily for his brilliant finish against the Foxes, with Premier League pundit Jim Beglin describing it as an “absolutely exquisite strike”.
The former Liverpool defender told Premier League Productions: “This is an absolutely exquisite strike. To take that first time, and sweep it across Hermansen, is superb. He’s Mr Manchester United right now.”
Fernandes is inevitable but Amorim highlights more important attribute
Fernandes now has 31 direct goal involvements for United this season, which seems ridiculous considering the difficulties the team has been facing.
It is even more impressive considering his new position under Amorim, which is deeper than he has been used to at Old Trafford, but he still feels just as inevitable as before.

The midfielder has 11 goals and assists in his last 11 appearances, but it the work-rate and determination from Fernandes which pleases Amorim the most at the moment.
“He is a very good player, he is in a good moment,” the United boss told BBC Match of the Day after the win on Sunday night.
“But what I like most is the way he works in every position to help the team.”
