Manchester United receive potential boost as Thomas Frank confirms ‘unbelievable’ star is ‘touch and go’ for Spurs clash

Manchester United have received a potential boost ahead of their clash with Tottenham Hotspur as Thomas Frank confirmed one player could miss the game.

Manchester United travel to North London on Saturday to face Tottenham Hotspur, carrying an unbeaten run of four Premier League matches.

Ruben Amorim’s men have shown a noticeable resurgence in form, picking up wins over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton, alongside a draw against Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are level on points with United but have struggled to find consistency at home. Their loss to Chelsea last weekend prompted boos from the home crowd, though they responded midweek with a convincing 4-0 victory over Copenhagen in the Champions League.

The two clubs faced each other four times last season — including the Europa League final — with Spurs emerging victorious on every occasion. As Amorim’s side prepare for the trip to London, they’ll be eager to rewrite that narrative and claim a statement win.

United receive potential boost ahead of Spurs clash

While United almost have a full squad ready to face this clash, Spurs have several injury concerns to deal with, both short and long-term issues.

Mohammed Kudus has arguable been Spurs’ best player so far this season, with Mickey van de Ven describing him as an “unbelievable” star.

But he was absent from the win over Copenhagen and during training afterwards. Thomas Frank has confirmed that the winger is ‘touch and go’ to make the United clash.

“Yes, everyone came through [the game] well. The ones that had been out for a small spell, Cuti and Dest, responded well. Kudus is touch and go for tomorrow,” the Spurs boss said in his press conference.

This could be good news for Amorim’s side as Kudus is a top player and has enjoyed solid games against United beforehand. He assisted in West Ham’s home win over the Reds two seasons ago while scoring at Old Trafford last term.

United need to be aggressive vs Spurs

While United will be aware of Spurs’ recent struggles at home, the Reds will be mostly focusing on themselves and how they can perform better.

Every positive performance this season has included a strong start to the game from the Reds and Amorim will need that to happen in North London on Saturday.

The approach from United only works if the entire team is working aggressively and that was an approach which stunned Spurs when Chelsea came to their stadium last weekend.

Just like United in recent years, Spurs can be rocked defensively and that is what the attacking talent at Amorim’s disposal will attempt to do.
