Manchester United will kick off their pre-season tour with a fixture against Championship club Leeds United in Oslo on Wednesday afternoon.

Manchester United will likely debut their first summer signing of the season in a Red shirt against Leeds United, with Erik ten Hag keen to integrate Mason Mount into the squad as fast as possible.

With David de Gea leaving the club after 12 seasons, United are becoming increasingly light in the goalkeeper department – and in this case, it may be that Tom Heaton will start in goal while the club complete their deal for André Onana.

In defence, Ten Hag’s options are somewhat limited as his first-choice full-backs are yet to return to pre-season training.

With Diogo Dalot not due back to training next week alongside the rest of the players who competed in the most recent international break, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will start at right-back.

Both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were selected to represent their country, leaving Alvaro Fernandez with the chance to impress at left-back. As the only senior centre-backs who travelled, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane will likely start in front of Heaton.

In midfield, Mason Mount will almost certainly be joined by Fred, who was the only other senior midfielder to travel – and considering how impressive he was during his loan last season, Hannibal Mejbri may be the third midfielder to partner the aforementioned duo.

In attack, Jadon Sancho was the only senior forward to travel, making it an easy prediction that he will start on the left wing.

Amad, who had a stellar season at Sunderland in the Championship during the 2022/23 campaign, will almost certainly start on the right wing, with youth player Joe Hugill given a chance to impress up front.

Full predicted XI:

Heaton; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Fernandez; Fred, Hannibal, Mount; Amad, Hugill, Sancho.
