Manchester United praised for ‘massive upgrade’ Senne Lammens, they made the ‘right decision’

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has praised ‘massive upgrade’ Senne Lammens, and has claimed that the Reds made the ‘right decision’ in the summer.

Manchester United managed to bounce back from their disappointing draw with West Ham United as they defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 last night.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring for United, before a Wolves leveller on the stroke of half-time. In the second half, goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Mason Mount, and Fernandes again helped the Reds to run away with it.

This victory has taken the Reds to sixth in the Premier League, level on points with Chelsea. Next on the fixture list for Ruben Amorim’s side is a home fixture against Bournemouth.

Despite United’s attackers stealing much of the limelight on Monday evening, former United defender Paul Parker has been quick to praise the Reds’ new shot stopper.

Parker’s praise for Lammens

Speaking to MyBettingSites, Parker said, regarding Senne Lammens, “Lammens has definitely made a big difference for Manchester United. He is a massive upgrade from [Andre] Onana.

“He looks confident, and Man United wouldn’t be where they are if they hadn’t brought him in. “He is communicating a lot better than Onana, and the most important thing is that he actually looks like a goalkeeper.

“He can actually use his hands and make saves, which should be the most important thing for a goalkeeper, but Onana couldn’t do that.”

“He is still very young, so he has a lot of room to grow as well, but I have been really surprised with the way he has come in and dominated in goal.”

“For me, he has been one of the best signings of the season, and combining that with his potential, I think Man United made the right decision by signing him and letting Onana go.”

Reliable Lammens

Since making his debut for the Reds, Lammens has very quietly provided some much-needed calm and consistency between the sticks, especially compared to what they have been used to.

When Onana was in goal for United, he was often catching the headlines for all the wrong reasons, and committed calamitous errors on a far too regular basis.

Despite only one clean sheet, the Belgian goalkeeper has made a plethora of impressive saves and seems to be providing necessary reassurance to his backline.

Hopefully, over the coming weeks, Lammens’ efforts can be rewarded with a few more clean sheets, as they may need to shore up at the back to continue their climb up the table.
