Mason Mount completed his £60 million move to Manchester United on Wednesday morning and his new teammates have already taken to social media to support the 24-year-old.

The midfielder joined from boyhood club Chelsea after admitting that an Old Trafford transfer was the best move for his career.

Mount will join up with the United squad on Thursday ahead of the pre-season tour. Erik ten Hag’s side have eight games in place to prepare themselves for the upcoming campaign.

Luke Shaw was the first United player to react to the news that Mount would be joining. On the midfielder’s Instagram video, where he said his farewells to Chelsea, Shaw replied simply saying, “My bro.” with a love heart emoji.

Following the official confirmation of the deal, Shaw’s teammates flooded in with supportive comments for their new teammate.

Captain Harry Maguire posted an Instagram story with an image alongside Mount during England training captioned “Welcome mate,” tagging Mason and the club. The skipper then added a heart faced emoji when the club uploaded images of the new signing in the United strip.

Bruno Fernandes instead came from another angle following the long awaited signing. The Portuguese posted images of him in a disagreement with Mount during a game in the 2020/21 campaign and captioned the post “Why did you take so long to join,” with an angry face emoji, and then added “Welcome,”.

Diogo Dalot added: “Welcome to the family” on his Instagram story.

United will also be looking to strengthen several other areas of the team, particularly bringing in a goalkeeper and centre forward.

Andre Onana appears to be the primary target to replace David de Gea after his contract at the club expired last week.
