Man Utd 4-4 Bournemouth: Player ratings as Rúben Amorim star handed 9/10, another gets 3/10

Manchester United and Bournemouth drew 4-4 in a stunning game at Old Trafford as the Premier League points were shared on Monday evening.

Rúben Amorim was able to pick Bryan Mbeumo and Amad, despite the possibility of the duo being unavailable due to the Africa Cup of Nations, as Manchester United welcomed Bournemouth to Old Trafford on Monday evening.

The Premier League tie started with the home side firmly on top, and they were handed a quick reward as Amad finished with a header from close range. Bournemouth then looked to swing the momentum, with Antoine Semenyo equalising for the visitors.

However, just before half-time, Casemiro was able to sneak around the back post and head in a Bruno Fernandes corner to give United the lead. But, within a minute of the restart, Evanilson then hit back with a strike of his own to make it 2-2.

Marcus Tavernier then added a third for Bournemouth with a fantastic free-kick. Amorim responded by introducing Kobbie Mainoo, Benjamin Šeško, and Lisandro Martínez, and with 15 minutes to play, Fernndes produced a stunning free kick to level the score once again.

Then, moments later, Matheus Cunha joined the action to hand a vital lead to United, but it did not last long as Eli Junior Kroupi finished well to make it 4-4. Two incredible saves from Senne Lammens in added time kept the score level, although the home side will still feel deflated.

United player ratings vs Bournemouth

Senne Lammens – 6/10

Had nothing to do for the first 30 minutes, but denied Tavernier well when called upon. First two goals were not his fault, although he should have saved the third. Despite conceding four, the Belgian made two incedible saves in added time to keep the score level, saving a point for United.

Leny Yoro – 7/10

Playing a bit of a hybrid right-back and centre-back role, Yoro was quality. Withdrawn after 65 minutes.

Ayden Heaven – 5/10

Third league start in a row, and started comfortably, although he should have come across to challenge Semenyo before he scored Bournemouth’s first. Good on the ball, positioning needs improving.

Luke Shaw – 7/10

Playing at centre-back, he made a vital early block and marshalled the back line. However, he was bodied far too easily for Bournemouth’s opening goal. A few essential interceptions in the second half.

Amad – 8/10

Played further forward and much more narrow, and he was fantastic. Easy and deserved opening goal, ran the show in attack for United. Less involved in the second half.

Casemiro – 5/10

Did well to break up some attacks, but jumped into a few tackles and left the back line exposed. Good header to restore the lead, just what United needed. However, a silly yellow card saw him hooked, and he will be banned from the Aston Villa tie later this week.

Bruno Fernandes – 8/10

Playing further forward, and you could tell. Ran the attacks, pressed well, and pulled the strings. Brilliant free-kick in the second half.

Diogo Dalot – 5/10

After a good last two games, his first half was mixed. A few good moments, but got a yellow after clashing with Semenyo. Good block just before half-time, but dropped off in the second half.

Bryan Mbeumo – 3/10

Found himself in fantastic positions but couldn’t finish his chances. His second half was very poor, not making the right runs or the right passes.

Matheus Cunha – 7/10

A few sloppy passes at points, but was absolutely electric both on and off the ball. Second half was much better, took his goal well.

Mason Mount – 7/10

Utterly relentless so far. winning balls, making passes, and sustaining attacks. Quiter in the second half, and was taken off in favour of Šeško.

United subs ratings

Kobbie Mainoo – 7/10

Mainoo was introduced with 30 minutes to play, and United were able to take more control. Great touches, quick passes, and looked to drive forward.

Benjamin Šeško – 6/10

Some good actions on his return from injury, essential in Cunha’s goal, but clearly not up to full fitness.

Lisandro Martínez – 5/10

Not the best cameo from Martínez.
