Manchester United player ratings in 3-2 loss vs Arsenal in Premier League clash
Manchester United were minutes away from earning a point at The Emirates before a late dagger from Eddie Nketiah.
Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez looked like they were set to continue United’s unbeaten run before Nketiah doubled his tally for the game and gave the league leaders all three points.
Here are the player ratings.
David de Gea – 6/10
Distribution poor in the first half but couldn’t help Saka’s great finish in the second. Incredible save in the last five minutes to keep United level before the eventual Arsenal winner.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10
Lost his duel too easily for Arsenal’s equaliser and alongside De Gea, gave Arsenal the ball beforehand.
Raphael Varane – 6/10
Comfortable on ball and some important defending throughout.
Lisandro Martinez – 7.5/10
Incredible on the ball all night. Defended with spirit and scored a brilliant looping header to get United back in the game.
Luke Shaw – 5/10
Difficult game against the in-form Saka, played a part by winning the ball for Rashford’s opener.
Scott McTominay – 4/10
Did well when United were in possession but Casemiro’s absence was felt with the gaps in behind United’s midfield.
Christian Eriksen – 5/10
Some good moments in the first half. Struggled to help Shaw defensively in the second period. Too far from Saka for his goal.
Antony – 5/10
Looked more comfortable and confident in possession in early stages but still no penetration in his game.
Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10
Some erratic moments in the first half but his energy was needed in this game.
Marcus Rashford – 7/10
Phenomenal goal after nutmegging Thomas Partey. Better decision-making than during mid-week but struggled to impose himself as Arsenal dominated the second half.
Wout Weghorst – 6/10
Good link-up play throughout. Pressed well.
Substitutes
Fred – 6/10
Brought energy.
Alejandro Garnacho – N/A
