Making up for dropping points mid-week against the same opposition, Manchester United beat Leeds 2-0, thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

A poor first half for most of the team was made up for with an excellent second, as United left with the three points they deserved.

Here’s how UtdDistrict rated the players:

David De Gea – 6.5/10

A slightly above standard performance from David De Gea. Distribution poor at times, as was his reluctance to help his defence. However, without the saves he made United wouldn’t have had a chance to leave Elland Road with a draw, let alone the win.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10

Yet to recapture the form he demonstrated before the World Cup, Dalot struggled for the second time this week against Leeds. He grew into the game and was better in the second 45. Unlucky not to score after hitting the crossbar with a 20-yard strike.

Harry Maguire – 2/10

Slow, sloppy and showcasing none of the quality that allowed him to rack up over 5,500 Premier League minutes in United’s squad across the 20/21 and 21/22 seasons. Rating could’ve been lower.

Luke Shaw – 6/10

The better of United’s two centre-halves, in his first game in the position since the Manchester Derby. Not his best game, but hopefully more will come against Barcelona next week. Shifted back to left-back following Malacia’s withdrawal. His cross would lead to Rashford’s winner.

Tyrell Malacia – 5/10

The lesser of the two starting full-backs, Malacia failed to offer an exceptional performance in either half of the pitch.

Marcel Sabitzer – 5/10

In a similar performance to the one he offered mid-week against the same opposition, it very much feels like we’re yet to see the best of the Austrian international.

Fred – 4/10

Bleak showing that after an early yellow card looked set to end up with a dismissal for the Brazilian international. Desperately missing his fellow countryman Casemiro who frequently gets the best out of Fred.

Jadon Sancho – 5.5/10

The brightest spot of a bleak first-half for United, Sancho struggled to build on his first 45 and was perhaps rightly substituted with 30 minutes.

Bruno Fernandes – 5.5/10

Great pressure to create United’s only real chance of the first-half, but ultimately should have done better when taking his shot. A mixed performance on the day, like a lot of the United team he failed to provide any standout moments of class.

Marcus Rashford – 7/10

Much like the Leeds game at Old Trafford on Wednesday, it wasn’t until United’s substitutes were introduced that Rashford came alive. But, for that last 30 minutes the Englishman was a class act, and deserved his brilliant goal.

Wout Weghorst – 4/10

For all the pros his pressing can bring, he was once again largely anonymous. So poor in the air on multiple occasions, and worryingly his best moments came when defending.

Substitutes:

Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

United’s best defender on the day, one who in an ideal world would’ve started the full game.

Alejandro Garnacho – 8/10

An exceptional performance off the bench for the 18-year-old. His goal was taken brilliantly and was his drive that seemed to get the entire United team moving at full pace.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6/10

A welcome return to the United squad, failed to put a foot wrong.

Anthony Elanga – N/A
