Goals from Anthony Martial and the returning Alejandro Garnacho ensured Manchester United’s victory against Wolves at Old Trafford.

It was a dominant display from the Red Devils, with United always looking the best of the two sides, and fully desrving all three points.

Here’s how UtdDistrict rated the players from Manchester United’s win:

David De Gea – 6/10

Rarely called upon in the first half as Wolves failed to muster a single shot on target, it looked set to be a quiet day in the sun for David De Gea.

Fortunate to not be punished by Wolves’ Hwang Hee-Chan, after sprinting out of his box in a bid to stop a Wolves counter-attack.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7.5/10

Another excellent showing that highlighted just how much Wan-Bissaka has progressed this season. With every match, it becomes harder to see a world in which AWB doesn’t remain United’s starting right-back next year.

Raphael Varane – 7/10

A welcome return to the United team for Varane. Between Varane and Wan-Bissaka, Wolves never looked like they would have any joy down United’s right side.

One slight criticism that goes for Varane as well as several others was their desire to shoot from out of the box needlessly. Of United’s 16 first-half shots, 10 were taken from outside of the box, with Varane’s thirty-yard effort the furthest back of them all.

Victor Lindelof – 7/10

Back on the left side of the backline, Lindelof delivered another strong performance. If the mass exodus of United players happens in the summer as planned, performances like this by Lindelof will ensure his place in the United squad for the foreseeable.

Luke Shaw – 7/10

A quiet performance for Shaw as he returned to the starting lineup at left-back for the first time in over a month. Created well at times, and played his role in keeping United’s clean sheet.

Casemiro – 6.5/10

Was unlucky to pick up a yellow for the least harmful of three consecutive attempts at a tactical foul from the United team, and generally was better than he has been recently. Still not back to his best yet, but solid for sure.

Christian Eriksen – 6/10

One of the prime offenders of United’s bizarre longshot fixation, Eriksen felt like the weak link of United’s midfield three. Not an awful performance but not one he’ll talk about for years to come either.

Antony – 7/10

A mixed game for United’s Brazilian winger. On one hand, he picked up the assist for United’s opener. On the other, he missed a golden chance himself thirty minutes in, and his decision-making ultimately denied him the chance to pick up several more assists.

Bruno Fernandes – 8.5/10

Just an absolute monster of a player. The most minutes played of any outfield player in the squad, and yet he does not stop running. Had a huge role in United’s opener, huge role in United’s win, huge role in United’s season. It’s that simple.

Jadon Sancho – 6.5/10

Like Antony on the other wing, Sancho had a mixed game. His passing at times left much to be desired, he still lacks bite and he probably should have scored after creating a top opportunity for himself in the second half.

Despite that, Sancho alone created that aforementioned chance and he was only denied by an equally excellent save by Wolves debutant Daniel Bentley. He also played a part in United’s first goal.

Anthony Martial – 6/10

Scored United’s opening goal, and ultimately that’s all that matters. Still can’t be trusted to see out a full 90 minutes, but his goal could well play a vital role in United securing a top-four position.

Substitutes:

Wout Weghorst – 6/10

Should have done better with a headed chance from an Eriksen corner, but also picked out Fernandes with an excellent pass late on.

Harry Maguire – 6/10

Huge block from the captain. Helped see out the victory.

Fred – 7.5/10

Immediately added something to the Red Devils’ midfield.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7.5/10

An excellent return secured United’s victory with his late goal.
