Manchester United are planning to execute nine further exits before the summer transfer window closes at the beginning of September.
So far this summer window, Manchester United have brought in three signings to bolster Rúben Amorim’s first-team squad after finishing 15th in the Premier League last season.
Matheus Cunha arrived in June, with young left-back Diego Leon and new star winger Bryan Mbeumo joining before the club flew to the United States for their pre-season tour.
However, their sales have so far been poor. Amorim wants a new striker, goalkeeper, and midfielder before the campaign restarts, but with a lack of funding after the above additions, United need to raise further cash through selling some of their wantaway assets.
With just over five weeks left in the window, United are reportedly planning to sanction nine further exits.
United want to secure a further nine departures
Following the completion of Marcus Rashford’s season-long loan to Barcelona, United are still hoping that at least four more players will be sold in the next month.
Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony have all been told they are not part of Amorim’s plans next summer, and have been left out of the squad that departed for the United States.
However, the Manchester World have further reported that the club are also hoping to sanction a further five loan exits, with Harry Amass, Jack Moorhouse, Ethan Wheatley, Ethan Williams, and Radek Vitek all lined up for temporary departures.
It has also been added that Moorhouse is the closest of this quintet to leave on loan, with League One side Leyton Orient closing in on his signature.
Kone now set to stay this summer
Earlier this summer, it was thought that young midfielder Sekou Kone would be heading out on loan for the 2025/26 campaign to gather his first minutes of senior football, but this plan has now changed.
Amid uncertainty that United will be able to secure a midfielder and impressive performances in training, Amorim has now decided that Kone will not be heading away from Old Trafford, and will instead be part of his squad.
After “brilliant” displays with the Academy teams last season, Kone was part of the 32-man squad travelling to the USA, and will almost certainly be handed some minutes across the club’s three games.
Amorim’s men will be taking on West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton stateside before welcoming Fiorentina to Old Trafford seven days before the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
United will be hosting Arsenal at Old Trafford in Manchester during the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
