Manchester United outcast could leave in January after becoming ‘main target’, he has been replaced at Old Trafford

One of the outcasts at Manchester United could leave in the January transfer window after becoming the ‘main target’ for a European club.

Manchester United’s Premier League season has been inconsistent, leaving them in 10th place, though only three points outside the top four.

They are still expected to compete for European qualification, helped by the lack of midweek fixtures after failing to qualify for Europe last season.

However, that same advantage has created challenges within the squad, as several players have struggled to earn meaningful playing time under Ruben Amorim.

There have also been certain players who have been replaced and that has led to rumours about them leaving the club as soon as January.

United outcast could leave in January after becoming ‘main target’

After the loan departure of André Onana in the summer, Altay Bayındır was given a chance between the sticks while Senne Lammens got used to his new environment.

The Turkish international failed to impress in the first six games of the season and has been benched by Lammens since the Sunderland victory. It doesn’t seem like that will change either.

Reports from Fanatik have explained that Turkish outfit Beşiktaş are expected to make an effort to sign Bayındır in the January window.

It was claimed that the United goalkeeper is their ‘main target’ as they look to strengthen at the back and they hope to be able to convince him of the move.

United would need to replace Bayındır

Bayındır remains the second-choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford and United would need to replace him if he left in the mid-season window.

The Reds would likely not want to interrupt the progress of Radek Vitek on loan, where he is starting every week for Bristol City in the Championship.

Tom Heaton has also rarely played over the last few years so United would likely need to dip into the transfer market for a low-cost replacement.

Yet, if Bayındır wants to leave the club, United are probably not going to stand in his way.
