Manchester United make fresh decision on Bryan Mbeumo transfer after Bruno Fernandes rejected Al-Hilal

Manchester United have made their Bryan Mbeumo stance clear after learning that Bruno Fernandes has rejected the mouth-watering offer on the table from Al-Hilal.

After a dreadful campaign last term, Manchester United are acting quickly to try and improve Ruben Amorim’s squad at Old Trafford.

Matheus Cunha has already been signed while it has also been reported that Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo wants to join the club.

On the other hand, player exits are on the cards and Alejandro Garnacho is among those expected to leave the club.

Bruno Fernandes has been the main target for Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in recent weeks and they have been offering a staggering £700,000-per-week to the United captain.

However, it was revealed on Tuesday morning that the 30-year-old rejected the approach and he now looks set to stay at United for next season.

United’s stance on Mbeumo after Fernandes rejected Al-Hilal

United do need to raise funds for signings this summer and Al-Hilal were prepared to offer over £100 million for Fernandes.

However, the Reds are looking to raise funds elsewhere, and reports from Ben Jacobs have revealed that the club captain rejecting a Saudi move has no impact on the club’s expected bid for Mbeumo.

United are planning to open talks with Brentford this week, with a potential £50 million price tag for the 25-year-old, and there is a level of confidence that a deal can be struck.

Speaking about Fernandes’ future last week, Amorim said: “It’s important for Bruno to see that we are changing a lot of things in our club.

“The behaviour, the everyday organisation, the pace of training. All these things, if he sees that we are doing that across all levels, he will want to stay. He loves this club.”

United can still raise significant funds

The situation of Fernandes was an interesting one because no one could have blamed him for accepting the Al-Hilal offer and United would have gotten a healthy amount of cash.

But there are a lot of other players – ones who have a minimal impact on the team – who can be sold.

The likes of Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Garnacho should be able to generate at least £120 million, while other players could also leave the club.

Fernandes, meanwhile, will be excited to finally be playing behind some quality forwards, while Mbeumo and Cunha will also be eager to play alongside the Portuguese star too.
