Manchester United have learned the price-tag for one ‘generational talent’ as they ‘seriously consider’ a potential transfer.

Manchester United have maintained their interest in 17-year-old Norwegian prodigy Sverre Halseth Nypan since facing Rosenborg in a pre-season friendly last July.

Nypan has been turning heads across European football with his exceptional performances, tallying 13 goals and 11 assists in 60 first-team appearances for Rosenborg despite his young age.

The teenager featured for 45 minutes against United in that friendly, impressing in midfield against the experienced duo of Mason Mount and Casemiro, during a match that ended in a late 1-0 defeat for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Now, under new head coach Ruben Amorim, the INEOS leadership are keen to sign some of the most talented youngsters around.

After securing the likes of Chido Obi-Martin and Sekou Kone last summer, it appears that Nypan is the next talent United are chasing.

Man Utd are ‘seriously considering’ Sverre Halseth Nypan transfer

According to TeamTalk, the Reds are ‘seriously considering’ making a move for Nypan, with Premier League rivals Chelsea also interested.

United have been keeping a close eye on the Norwegian midfielder’s performances over the last year and have been left impressed.

Talks with his agent have been held but other top European clubs–such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund–are also monitoring the 17-year-old.

The report added that it has been suggested that Nypan has a release clause in the region of £15 million, which could be a steal considering his potential.

“Nypan is a truly generational talent. If he continues to play like this, it’s very likely he’ll move within a year,” an unnamed Norwegian scout has told MailOnline.

Ruben Amorim has already showcased how he will use young talent

In the new system, the talented teenager could fit into various roles but would most likely compete for a place as one of the two no.10s behind the striker.

Amorim has showcased that he is prepared to use youth during his time at Sporting Lisbon, and United fans are looking forward to seeing this in action at Old Trafford.

Godwill Kukonki has already been included in a matchday squad under the Portuguese boss. The 16-year-old defender appeared on the bench in the Premier League defeat to Arsenal.

More is expected to come from the head coach, especially due to the amount of exciting talent within the walls at Carrington.
