Manchester United insiders have ‘growing belief’ Ruben Amorim will promote 19yo talent this season
Manchester United insiders have a ‘growing belief’ that Ruben Amorim will promote an exciting 19-year-old talent this season.
Manchester United are extremely well known for bringing through bright talent through their Academy into the first-team.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo are the latest examples of the youth system at work and there are many more talented youngsters within the walls at Carrington.
Ruben Amorim has recently joined the club and has a history of utilising the Academy talent during his time at Sporting Lisbon.
The head coach quickly provided an opportunity for 16-year-old defender Godwill Kukonki, who was in the squad to face Arsenal earlier this month.
Amorim has not had many younger players in his recent training sessions due to the–almost–fully fit squad he has at his disposal.
However, the 39-year-old has previously detailed the importance of included younger players in first-team sessions to help with their development, so it is something to anticipate from him.
After attending the Under-21s 5-1 win over Southampton on the weekend, Amorim would have noticed the talents of Jack Moorhouse in the midfield, who scored twice in the victory.
Moorhouse has struggled for consistency in recent years with several spells out of action due to injury but is finding his best form in Adam Lawrence’s side this season.
According to a report from MailOnline, Moorhouse’s time off the pitch has mainly been put down to setbacks through growing pains.
But, with the teenager now back on the pitch and looking at his best, it is explained that there is hope within the club that he could be introduced to first-team training this season.
The report details that the 19-year-old midfielder is not currently set for a mid-season loan move, and there is a ‘growing belief’ that Amorim could promote him to see him up close and personal at Carrington.
While there is many youth talents within the club, Moorhouse’s age and profile does make it seem like integration with the first-team squad soon makes sense.
Should that happen, the teenager will be eager to impress Amorim and his coaching staff to try and push his way into the thinking for matchday squads in the future.
