Manchester United are heading into their Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest with some slight advantages.
Manchester United resume Premier League action on Tuesday night following the international break, with Ruben Amorim’s men looking to build on the positive momentum from their recent performances.
Before the break, the Reds impressed with strong displays and results against Arsenal, Real Sociedad, and Leicester City and now have several injured players close to returns.
Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro all trained on Friday afternoon while Kobbie Mainoo and Ayden Heaven are not far away from doing the same.
With some extremely difficult fixtures coming up, Amorim and his side must firstly focus entirely on facing Nottingham Forest next up.
United receive another boot after Forest vs Brighton
Forest have been flying this season and currently sit third in the Premier League standings. It is the first time in a long while where United will be considered the underdogs going into a game between the two.
However, Nuno Espírito Santo could be without star striker Chris Wood against the Reds after he suffered an injury over the international break.
Another potential boost for United came on Saturday night as Forest celebrated their FA Cup victory against Brighton to send them into the semi-finals of the competition.
While it was jubilation for United’s upcoming opponents, the game was not easy and they were forced into extra-time and penalties before winning the clash on spot kicks.
After playing those 120 minutes, it is only three days until Forest return to the pitch against a United side who should be fully rested and ready to battle.
United have unique opportunity vs Forest
United are often the team who have minimal rest going into games, while their opponents have had a full week off to prepare for the clash.

That is what happens when you’re fighting on all fronts but United have got the unique opportunity to be on the other side when they face Espírito Santo’s men since they are out of both domestic cup competitions.
Of course, United are still in the Europa League and might have to start taking that competition into account in their future Premier League games, since it is much more important to prioritise winning that.
However, right now Amorim’s men can put all of their focus on this clash against Forest and a win could give them some important confidence heading into a tough period of games.
