Manchester United have dodged huge red flag as transfer target ‘obsession’ explained, Omar Berrada wants the complete opposite

Manchester United’s summer transfer window so far has been complicated but it seems like they have dodged a huge red flag as a bizarre story develops.

Manchester United have signed Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon so far this summer and are looking to secure a deal for Bryan Mbeumo soon.

Ruben Amorim’s main priority has been to improve the underwhelming attacking line from last season and he is also looking for a striker.

The Reds have missed out on a couple of no.9s, with Liam Delap moving to Chelsea and Victor Osimhen’s wage demands ruling him out as a target.

There are other options for United upfront but some of them appear to be unlikely, but that actually could be a good thing.

Gyokeres obsession explained

Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with United ever since Amorim joined the club. The pair have a close relationship after the United boss helped the striker explode at Sporting CP.

However, after various twists and turns in the transfer saga, it recently became clear that Arsenal was the preference for Gyokeres and a deal is moving closer for him to go to the Emirates.

But that situation hasn’t been without its drama and Sporting’s president has slammed the player and his agent after he refused to turn up to pre-season training.

There are too many details to note throughout the entire situation but it is now being claimed by Portuguese reports that an Arsenal move is an obsession for Gyokeres,.

For those at Old Trafford, even if that move doesn’t work out, they should not look to re-enter the race for Gyokeres. Omar Berrada believes that players should want to join the club.

“The ones that don’t want to come here because we’re not in the Champions League, we probably don’t want them,” the United chief executive recently said.

Gyokeres’ agent is clear red flag

Not only do United want to sign players who want to play for the club, but they also should be looking to avoid the off-pitch circus that comes with certain agents and representatives.

This saga has proven that Gyokeres’ agent might not be worth the hassle, especially for United, who must fix the cultural problems that have been present at Old Trafford for some time now.

He said strong words in the media, claiming that he will prove that the Sporting president is lying about their agreement for Gyokeres’ exit this summer. He still hasn’t shown that proof.

If the Swedish striker was a guaranteed success, you might want to bite the bullet and try and deal with whatever problems are thrown your way.

But he has never played in the Premier League and the Portuguese division is not the strongest. Obviously, he could still prove to be a brilliant signing, likely for Arsenal, but the concerns are there and United can’t afford the risk.
