Manchester United hosted an open training session on Wednesday afternoon ahead of their Friday night clash against Chelsea in the Premier League.
Everyone is waiting for the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday evening.
However, Ruben Amorim’s side do have a Premier League clash against Chelsea beforehand and it will be a difficult game where the head coach needs to find a balance.
Some players will need rest and to be protected, but others will need to get minutes in their legs ahead of the final next week.
Amorim witnessed Leny Yoro suffer an injury last weekend against West Ham and will not want any other important players experiencing any setbacks.
On Wednesday afternoon, the United squad hosted an open training session as part of the Europa League final preview but the squad will currently be focused on the game against Chelsea.
Yoro not involved in United training session
United’s training session on Wednesday had a large amount of players involved, which suggests towards the amount of rotation he is expected to make.
So many young talents were involved, including the likes of Jaydan Kamason, Sam Murray, James Overy, Tyler Fredricson and Sekou Kone.
However, Leny Yoro was not involved in the training session after his injury issue on the weekend. Toby Collyer and Jonny Evans were both back in the session after recent injuries. Matthijs de Ligt and Diogo Dalot also remain out of action.
After being rested against West Ham, it feels like Andre Onana will return to action against Chelsea to ensure he is not rusty heading towards the final.
Rasmus Hojlund was present in the session but played 90 minutes against The Hammers and is expected to be rested against The Blues as he is the only striker available for that game. Chido Obi could make his second start in the Premier League.
