Manchester United deliver XI hint vs Ipswich Town as Ruben Amorim sticks to promise

Manchester United are set to host Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Wednesday evening after their draw against Everton on the weekend.
Ruben Amorim’s spell as Manchester United head coach began with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Since then, it has been a difficult season for the Portuguese manager, with just 10 wins in his first 22 games at the helm.
United weakened their squad during the January transfer window, allowing Tyrell Malacia, Antony, and Marcus Rashford to leave on loan, while Patrick Dorgu was the only significant arrival.
Further setbacks followed after the window closed, as both Lisandro Martínez and Amad suffered season-ending injuries—two of the few players who had been impressing under Amorim.
Despite these challenges, Amorim must find a way to steady the ship, with United sitting only 13 points clear of the relegation zone. They have won just one of their last five Premier League matches and now prepare for another meeting with Ipswich.
Meanwhile, the Tractor Boys will view this clash as a key opportunity to strengthen their bid for top-flight survival.
United deliver Ipswich hint as Obi misses U21s clash
Ahead of the Wednesday evening clash, United’s Under-21s side were in action on Tuesday night against Sutton United in the National League Cup.
It was quickly noticed that Travis Binnion’s side once again did not have Chido Obi in the squad, with 16-year-old Amir Ibragimov leading the line instead.
That makes it extremely likely that Obi will be with Amorim’s squad for the third consecutive game after starting on the bench against Spurs and Everton.
The 17-year-old appeared in both of those games and some will argue that he may be in with a shout to start against Ipswich due to Rasmus Højlund’s dire form.
It is possible that Sekou Kone, who played for the Under-21s on Tuesday night, is also included on the bench for the first-team.
Amorim sticks to youth promise
Amorim recently explained that he wants to put trust in young players and continuing to pick Obi shows that.
The teenager managed to play 20 minutes last time out and it would be no surprise to see him get a similar amount of time at Old Trafford if he isn’t starting.
“We have young players, we are working with young players. We have to really focus on that, as a club, when we have, at this moment, a lot of injuries,” Amorim said last week.
“We should use the young players. If not, you don’t have the space for them to improve and show themselves.

“I think we really need to focus in the future of our club on the youth, because of the history and because of the reality of our club.”
United fans will be looking forward to seeing Obi involved once again in the first-team this week as the team search for a third Old Trafford victory under Amorim.
