Manchester United deliver Chido Obi vs Everton hint following U18s win vs Wolves

Manchester United youth star Chido Obi made his debut for Ruben Amorim’s first-team on the weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.
Chido Obi joined Manchester United from Arsenal earlier in the season after rejecting a professional contract at the Emirates Stadium.
As a boyhood United supporter, Obi completed a dream move to Old Trafford and has since been excelling in the youth ranks.
After netting a hat-trick against Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup last week, the 17-year-old striker was one of seven Academy players promoted to the first-team to play Spurs.
Ruben Amorim’s squad was depleted through injury and illness, with only 12 first-team players available for the Premier League clash.
Obi was the only player to be brought on during that encounter, and while he was unable to make an impact in the small amount of time he was given on the pitch, the teenager was delighted to make his debut.
“Disappointed with the loss, on a personal note thanks to the gaffer and the club for making a dream come true for me and my family,” he wrote on Instagram after the game.
United deliver Obi vs Everton hint
United’s issues are not going away. It has been reported that Kobbie Mainoo is out of action for six weeks, while Amad has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
This also follows the Reds allowing both Antony and Marcus Rashford to leave the club on loan in January, which has all left Amorim with few option upfront.
Joshua Zirkzee has begun to show promise as one of the no.10s but that leaves Rasmus Højlund as the only senior option to play as the striker.
Obi’s debut is unlikely to be his only appearance this season and it has been hinted that he could once again be involved against Everton on Saturday afternoon.
Despite only playing three minutes in North London, the 17-year-old striker was not involved for the Under-21s on Monday evening or for the Under-18s on Tuesday night.
16-year-old striker Louie Bradbury led the line for Adam Lawrence’s side in their 2-1 win over Wolves U18s, and Obi’s absence from either game suggests that he has been training with the first-team instead.
United will be travelling away to Goodison Park for the final time before Everton move to their new stadium and Obi may be gifted another opportunity in the squad.
The same can be said for other talents included on the bench such as Jack Fletcher, Jack Moorhouse and Harry Amass. Although, it has been reported that Leny Yoro, Christian Eriksen, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer will be back in contention for the weekend.
But they are still missing depth up front, which could give Obi the edge over his Academy teammates, and he will be hoping for more than three minutes if he travels to Merseyside.
