Manchester United defender makes strong “stop us” claim after stellar Wolves performance

A Manchester United star has shown his confidence in the team claiming “nobody can stop us” after a strong performance against struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United are looking a much stronger side compared to their recent few games as they left Molineux stadium with all three points with a convincing 4-1 victory against a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who have yet to secure a win in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim’s back line has seen some shifting around due to injuries to Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs De Ligt and Harry Maguire, calling upon United’s younger talents to command from the back.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes, Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount put hopes of an upset to bed despite Jean-Racner Bellegarde’s first half equaliser just before half-time.

Whilst Wolves were far from amazing in their attacking threat, United demonstrated how solid they can operate with very little troubling summer signing goalkeeper Senne Lammens, and this has boosted United’s confidence heading into their next game against Bournemouth.

One United defender has spoken out about his belief in the team making a bold statement.

Heaven believes “nobody can stop us”

19-year-old, Ayden Heaven made only his second start of in the Premier League this season, retaining his position after starting against West Ham in United’s previous game. The young defender spoke about the mentality in the squad in the mixed zone after facing Wolves.

He stated, “We dropped points in the last game and this was a chance to go and redeem ourselves and get more points. I feel like we did that especially in the second half. We knew it wasn’t good enough when we conceded. He [Amorim] just told us to do what we can do and we did that, as you saw.”

Heaven showed trust in Amorim after keeping his starting spot. “There’s so many great defenders at this club and that he’s trusting you to be at the middle of that defence. He’s trusting me a lot.”

With United now progressing to sixth in the league table, Heaven revealed his ambition to continue achieving as a squad. “If we carry on how we did today, with this same team, then we can go as high as possible.”

“I don’t think anyone can stop us when we play like this. Of course playing at Old Trafford [in three of the next four games], you can’t say no to that. Its a real boost to us and it will work in our favour. We want to win as many games as possible.”

Amorim must decide his strongest back three

With United facing a hungry Bournemouth in their next fixture, Amorim must decide what back three to select to deal with the concerning attacking threat of Antoine Semenyo, who has been electric this season.

Heaven will look to retain his starting role, but the 19-year-old typically operated as the left sided defender of the back three as opposed to his new role as the central defender.

The return of Martinez from injury has been a refreshing piece of news for United fans, but doubts still remain over whether he is fit to start. Meanwhile, Luke Shaw has been a concrete factor of Amorim’s defence, starting all 15 league games for United as he looks strong.

Regardless, United appear to remain confident in their squad and have trust in the manager after their solidarity at Molineux.
