Manchester United confirmed XI to face Wolves as Lisandro Martinez not in squad
Manchester United will round off their 2022 footballing calendar with a Premier League fixture facing Wolverhampton Wonderers.
2022 has seen Manchester United through an incredibly turbulent time, from Erik ten Hag joining the club to Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract termination, with the small matter of the Glazer family looking to sell the club thrown into the mix as well.
One positive from 2022 has been the signing of Casemiro, who has taken the meeting of “fan favourite” to a new level with his brilliant performances and enthusiastic nature. With the midfielder having returned to United action after the World Cup, Erik ten Hag has spoken about the player.
“I am happy they (Real Madrid) did it (sold Casemiro to Manchester United). But you also see him involved at the World Cup; he is a magnificent player.
“My analysis was before the start of the season, we needed a (number) six, and he is fulfilling that six position,” the Dutchman said in his embargo presser after his side’s win against Nottingham Forest.

He added, “You need the right player, and definitely, we have the right player. I am really happy for United and for this team to have him. Because he is raising the limits from Manchester United.”
