Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United squad have travelled to Brentford ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend after a dominant 3-0 win over Athletic Club in the first-leg of their Europa League semi-final earlier this week.
Ruben Amorim’s side will have one eye on the second-leg at Old Trafford next week but must also be prepared to face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Bees are going to be a very tough test for a United side who are likely going to rotate to avoid injury.
It is expected that several Academy players are given a chance in the team to allow rest for some of the first-team regulars. Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson started last month against Wolves after the Lyon clash.
Ahead of the game, the confirmed squad members have been revealed.
Amad and De Ligt expected to feature vs Brentford
Every player that started against Athletic Club – barring Noussair Mazraoui – have travelled to Brentford. That does not necessarily mean they will all start the game, with the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Casemiro likely to be rotated out of the lineup, but they will be in the squad.
Mazraoui’s absence will be precaution after Amorim explained that the Moroccan is “at the limit” following the clash in Spain.
Meanwhile, both Amad and Matthijs de Ligt have travelled with the squad after they both returned from injury last week. It was a huge boost for Amorim to be able to bring them both off the bench in Bilbao and it has been claimed that they are both expected to get minutes against Brentford.
Chido Obi is also among those in the squad. The 17-year-old striker has made a handful of first-team appearances now and could be eyeing his first start for the club. Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson are also involved.
Despite travelling with the squad to Bilbao, Sekou Kone, Bendito Mantato and Jaydan Kamason were not spotted with the team heading to Brentford.
