Manchester United have confirmed Rúben Amorim’s starting XI as they welcome Newcastle to Old Trafford in a Boxing Day Premier League clash.
Rúben Amorim is setting his sights on Manchester United’s penultimate fixture of the calendar year as Newcastle make the trip to Old Trafford on Friday night.
Premier League scheduling rules mean the contest is the sole Boxing Day offering this festive period, with the evening kick-off expected to produce a fiery atmosphere under the lights.
Both teams have found consistency hard to come by this season, showing plenty of threat going forward but leaving themselves exposed defensively, which points towards an entertaining, goal-filled encounter.
United head into the game in seventh place, yet a Boxing Day victory could see Amorim’s side move up to joint fourth, depending on results elsewhere, with Liverpool and Chelsea in action later in the weekend.
The XIs have been confirmed below, with Amorim starting Benjamin Šeško as part of the front three, while Lisandro Martínez is named from the start for the first time since February.
