Manchester United confirm Rúben Amorim XI vs Chelsea as Bruno Fernandes decision made (Premier League)

Rúben Amorim has chosen to start Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United line up to face Chelsea in their penultimate Premier League fixture of the season.

Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge tonight to face Chelsea for their penultimate Premier League game of the season, with Rúben Amorim’s side desperate to halt a dire run of form.

United sit 16th in the table with just 39 points and are winless in their last seven league games. They finish their season at home to Aston Villa on Sunday but have one eye on Wednesday’s Europa League final against Tottenham in Bilbao.

Amorim has warned that underperforming players could lose their place in the final, as United look to salvage something from their worst-ever Premier League campaign.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are pushing for Champions League qualification and will be looking to take full advantage of United’s instability.

Despite missing a recognised striker, Enzo Maresca’s side had been unbeaten in ten games prior to a 2-0 loss against Newcastle last weekend and know that three points tonight could prove vital in the race for a top-five finish.

The XIs have been confirmed below, with Amorim starting Bruno Fernandes as part of the midfield two, with Mason Mount and Amad supporting Rasmus Højlund in attack.

Manchester United’s line-up

Starting XI: Onana, Lindelöf, Maguire, Shaw, Mazraoui, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu, Mount, Højlund, Amad.

Subs: Bayındır, Amas, Fredricson, Heaven, Collyer, Eriksen, Mainoo, Ugarte, Garnacho.
