Manchester United confirm nine players will leave club this month as three signings possible

Manchester United have confirmed that there will be nine players departing on free contracts this month as they also look to make several signings.

It was a quick start to the summer transfer window for Manchester United after they confirmed the signing of Matheus Cunha on the opening day.

Since then, it has been revealed that Bryan Mbeumo and Viktor Gyokeres are keen on joining while Bruno Fernandes has also rejected a mega-offer from Al-Hilal.

There have been no further announcements on signings yet – and the transfer window will be closed for six days after the first deadline day of the summer on Tuesday.

But the Reds are planning to get their business done as early as possible before Ruben Amorim’s squad begin their pre-season preparations at the beginning of July.

United could announce three signings this month

With just under three weeks remaining of the window, United could be set to see three new players enter the building, with Mbeumo being the most eye-catching.

Reports have stated that United want to complete the deal quickly and the Reds’ second bid for the player is set to be close to Brentford’s demands.

Gyokeres is the other high profile deal which looks set to occur after he rejected Al-Hilal and told them he wanted to move to the Premier League.

With other clubs looking elsewhere for centre-forwards, this deal looks like it’s a matter of time and United will certainly want to secure their main striker before pre-season begins.

Finally, it has recently been revealed that Diego Leon will be travelling to Manchester within the next week after he agreed to join the club in February. The 18-year-old will likely be confirmed as an official signing soon before he starts settling into life in England.

United confirm nine departures

There are several high-profile exits which could happen this summer – with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford among those expected to be sold – but a lot of those deals are expected to drag on.

United had already confirmed three first-team exits, with Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelöf and Christian Eriksen all leaving at the end of the month when their contracts expire.

The club have now revealed that a further six players are set to be released this month, while talks with Tom Heaton over a new contract continue.

Hubert Graczyk, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles. James Nolan and Tom Wooster will all leave United in the coming weeks.

Graczyk, Kingdon and Murray have had regular experience with the first-team squad in training and Murray even travelled on the tour to the United States last summer.
