Manchester United have confirmed Michael Carrick’s starting XI as the club take on Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Manchester United are still without a win in 2026 as they prepare to take on local rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The year has started in a frustrating fashion for United, who have been held to 1-1 by 16th-placed Leeds United and 2-2 by 19th-placed Burnley, before being dumped out of the FA Cup at home by Brighton. Those results also came during a period of upheaval, with former Head Coach Rúben Amorim dismissed.
Ahead of the Manchester derby, United have turned to Michael Carrick, appointing him as head coach until the end of the season, with City providing his first test in charge.
Carrick previously stepped into the role on an interim basis in November 2021, overseeing wins against Arsenal and Villarreal, alongside a 1-1 draw with then league leaders Chelsea.
The XIs have been confirmed below, with Carrick starting Bryan Mbeumo and Amad as part of the attacking line, with Benjamin Šeško on the bench.
